Five Things I Love Lately

As we adjust to the new schedule–adding school to the mix!–I’ve found myself with tons of ideas but a little less time for writing. I’ve been taking notes during drop-off and pick-up, and, while I have a number of posts I need to type up, I’ve also been accumulating lists of “fewer & better”-approved items. Here are five recent favorites.

Rituals Hand Balm: My colleague recently returned from a trip to the Netherlands and she brought me back this amazing hand lotion. It’s super absorbent and the scent is light but long-lasting. I love it!

Lamy pen: I always have my Lamy pen in my bag–it’s an amazing fountain pen and writes so well, especially considering its low cost. I have the Safari for everyday use, and it’s a fantastic way to get used to writing with a fountain pen without a huge investment.

Dempsey & Carroll stationery: We all know how much I love my Dempsey & Carroll stationery, and I am still so thrilled to be a brand ambassador for my favorite stationery brand! As birthday party season begins, and the social circuit, it’s great to have a set of reliable correspondence cards on hand to congratulate a host on a job well done, or jot a quick note. You can use the code SARAHC for 10% off your purchase.

J. Crew corduroys: I am thrilled that J. Crew seems to be returning to its roots with their fall collection! My favorite cords* are back and just as good as ever. Grab a pair before they sell out!

Petite Plume pajamas: There’s nothing I love more than curling up with a good book (I’m reading Shy, Mary Rodgers’ memoirs, for book club next month and LOVING it) with a roaring fire, a good cup of tea, and warm pajamas. It’s finally the ideal weather for my favorite Petite Plume pajamas* (you can read my review here.) I find these run true-to-size; I wear an XS and am usually a size 0.

  1. Sarah,

After you posted about your love of Lamy pens, I went to my local pen shop and purchased the Safari style. It is so beautiful and they make great gifts around the holidays. The shop I worked with even helped me find a custom ink that coordinated with my notecards. Lately, I’ve been loving Edith Hour for pajamas. I found Petite Plume to run small (I’m 5’9″ with a larger chest) and wish I had sized up to a M. Enjoy your new routine, I always look forward to your upcoming inspiring content!

    1. I’m so glad you love Lamy pens as well! That’s so wonderful your local shop worked with you to find a custom ink. I also love Edith Hour and bought my mother-in-law some for Christmas last year. Such great quality!!
