A few years ago I took charge of stockings in our house, and it’s one of my favorite things to do over the holidays! I love finding small, meaningful, and useful gifts for my family. Here are ten of my favorite stocking stuffers!

Candles, Cire Trudon via Ann Mashburn, $46: I love including small candles in special scents in stockings. The small size of these candles are perfect to try out new scents!

Reusable coffee cups, ECOFFEE via Ann Mashburn, $13: These are great little coffee cups that are eco-friendly and sustainable, plus the perfect size for a single cup as opposed to one of those enormous monstrosities you often see. My mother-in-law and husband love their coffee, so these were a very popular stocking stuffer the year I bought these for everyone!

Notebooks, Moleskine, various pricing: Both my husband and I carry notebooks with us all the time–I love the pocket Moleskine for ease of use. Whether hardcover or soft cover, they are perfect for sticking in your purse or pocket if a sudden thought strikes you.

Hand cream, L’Occitane, $12 for 1 oz. tubes: In the age of washing your hands a billion times a day, hand cream is essential. I’ve always been a fan of L’Occitane’s scents, so these always end up in our stockings!

Candy: It’s a tradition in my family to always give peppermint bark in stockings, so it’s always great to try different types! I love Williams-Sonoma‘s, and of course Ghirardelli.

Cookies, $12, Marabissi via Di Bruno: My mother-in-law gave me some Marabissi biscotti a few Christmases ago, and I had to ration myself, they were so good! These are ending up in everyone’s stockings this year–there are a few options here, and I think my mother-in-law has found them at Eataly as well.

Cashmere socks, from $49, Johnstons of Elgin: Cashmere socks are warm, cozy, and luxurious–a treat I wouldn’t be necessarily willing to splurge on myself, but so lovely for a holiday!

A special bottle: Whether wine, champagne, or something a bit more unique–I love the King’s Ginger and Sipsmith’s sloe gin in the winter!–a bottle or half bottle of something special is always a wonderful treat to find in your stocking!

Perfume or cologne gift boxes: I love commemorating special journeys with special scents–some favorites are from Burren Perfumery, which is located near where I spent two summers excavating an Early Medieval cashel, or ringfort, or Lili Bermuda, the site of many wonderful family vacations. Small vials of perfume are also a wonderful way to find a new scent without the initial commitment!

A mug with tea and honey: I love giving local honey as a gift, adding a mug (these Delft mugs are lovely), and a special blend of tea makes such a lovely and useful gift! A small but special way to commemorate the holiday.
