I’ve felt so inspired now that summer has started, I wanted to add an additional post to my weekly three posts! One of the things I’ve loved the most about starting this blog is connecting with friends I may not have met otherwise. Here’s what I’ve been reading (and shopping) this week.

My friend Jane brings a touch of French outlook to my very American life–her husband is French and they share their time between Boston and France! (You can follow their French home’s renovation here on Instagram). Thanks to their frequent travels, she has packing in a carryon down to a science. You can read her posts on carryon travel here and here. The posts include detailed, actionable steps to pack properly, including a great packing list!

Speaking of Boston, my friend Heather’s list of must-visit Boston places has me itching to plan a visit this summer before my little one’s godmother moves to the West Coast! You can find an incredible list here. (It’s only missing my favorite Boston restaurant, Precinct Kitchen + Bar!)

So many of my favorite city restaurants are included in Janie Pierrepont’s NYC Restaurant Guide, and I’ve added many more to my to-try list!

I’m planning to host a summer dinner party this year (even if it’s just a small one!), and one of my favorite places for table linens is having a 20% off linens sale through the end of the month with the code SUMMER20.

For other aspects of planning, we just ordered a new grill and so I’m brushing up on five dishes everyone should know how to grill. I absolutely love the NYT Cooking site (and the giant NYT Cookbook–an incredible Christmas gift from my mother-in-law), and I’m drafting menus as I type 🙂

Now that I have a preschooler and time is a little more my own, I’m eager to start sailing again. I haven’t sailed since I became a mother and it’s something I very much miss. This article about Kirsten Neuschäfer, the first woman to win the Golden Globe race, and this article about sailing the Maine Coast are inspiring all sorts of wanderlust.
