I can’t believe it’s already the first week of 2022… it’s so surreal that the pandemic is still going on. Well, we are trying to make the best of this, and the omicron surge, by staying as close to home as possible. In the meantime, I’m grateful for the distraction of the internet! Here are five links I’ve been reading this week.

Jen‘s post on balancing friendships–and the comments–was both moving (I’m so grateful for my friends/community!) and saddening (I miss so many of the friends who are no longer part of my life in a meaningful way!) It’s so hard to balance new friendships vs. old as your life changes, and that’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.

As I finally try to commit to a decision for fabric for reupholstering a pair of slipper chairs, I’ve been turning to spaces and people who inspire me. My friend Nan‘s former Manhattan apartment is gorgeous (designed by the uber-talented Lilse McKenna!), and I love the way Schumacher’s Quail Meadow was used on the reverse! Other spaces that inspire me are my friend Amy‘s former apartment (I’d love velvet slipper chairs in the same shade as her sofa, but not practical for life right now!), and the apartment of designer Max Sinsteden.

Speaking of those slipper chairs (which are a very classic, timeless silhouette), I’m glad to see a revival of traditional design for this year. The Glam Pad has rounded up some fantastic reads here.

In other interiors news, I’ve anxiously awaited the reveal of Jo Rodgers’ London townhouse renovations, but somehow missed the article when it was published in November! You can read all the updates here, and certainly don’t miss her column on country living in House & Garden, which I eagerly await each month!

I’m a lifelong fan of Sister Parish and I love the new short film the company just released! (Their Treillage fabric in blue is the top contender for recovering the slipper chairs I mentioned above.)
