Last week was ideal fall weather–morning temperatures in the mid-50s, midday temperatures in the low 70s, minimal humidity, cool enough for me to wear my fleece when sailing. This week, however, summer is back–hopefully not for long!

In the throes of summer heat, and with back to school upon us, I’m going through my wardrobe and pulling out my fall wardrobe staples to get everything ready for my favorite season. Today starts a new series where I share a “flatlay” of a favorite outfit.

As always, I wear and re-wear most of my wardrobe over the course of years, so some pieces aren’t still available. In those cases, I’ve linked to similar pieces from brands I know and love.
